MICHELLE ROSENBERG (b. Manchester UK) is an artist and architect working in NYC and the Hudson Valley who makes delicate sculptures with used broom bristles that engage with questions of disposable material culture, undervalued labor, and “women's work”. On the occasion of NADA Foreland, Rosenberg presents a collection of cleaning tools on a custom-built pedestal modeled after a utility cart. The small sculptures offer a range of sensibilities and imaginary functions. Some use complex geometry to create a kinetic, optical effect, while others mimic forms found in nature to uncanny ends. Each takes on an ambiguous position between functional tool and object of contemplation, creating space for new associations and values.
